I mean, we are teachers? we should bring joy to our class. Their life may or may not be as good as their friends, hence it's our job to woosh their pains away. Haa, sebab tu laah ice - breaking activities are so important just to grab their focus in checked!
My suggestions of Ice - braking activities ni takde lah power gilaa tapi untuk buat your class much more interesting, YOU SHOULD TAKE THESE AS CONSIDERATIONS!
#5 QUICK POP QUIZ WITH SOME CANDIES OR CHOCOLATES!
Yeah I know this sounds so lame but it works like seriously. Every time! You know what people say about "Old is Gold" kan? So what you should do is, throw some questions about what you taught in previous class, or any random questions that you can think about. Reason being is that, they can start fresh by having to think about the question u ask. Plus dapat rewards kan siapa je yang tak suka. So, cuba try okay you will definitely see the result.
#4 SIMON SAYS
Again. NO JUDGEMENT PLEASE! I know this activity is cliche but you've got to try. Maybe you can add some twist in it. Pace up a notch each round so that the fastest fetus can survive. Or, you can ask the students to NOT DO what Simon says. For example, " Simon says.. sit down!" those who sit down will be eliminated and you can continue the game up until you find a winner.
#3 KELOPAK JANTUNG
This one is really easy. Kacang! All you have to do is to split the class into two groups. Each group will be given a magic word. One will be "Kelopak" and another one will be "Jantung". This activity requires their full attention. Once you point to a group, they have to shout their magic word.
The group that does not shout their magic word in sync or gives a late response to the teacher, will be the loser. Try to raise the speed each round. You will be surprised to see their excitement in this game.
#2 PAK PACAK!
or in summary, we can call it "the last man standing.. wins!" Okay, so basically, teacher will read aloud some traits that may or may not describe the students. It can be in any forms. Be it the colour of watch they're wearing or their hobbies. For instance, teacher will read some lines like..
---> Those who wear red shirt, please sit down..
---> Those who wear a watch on your RIGHT hand please sit down..
---> Those who have mole on your feet please sit down..
or you can make it funnier by asking;
---> Those who just farted before I enter this class please sit down..
---> Those who haven't changed their socks please sit down..
teacher will read aloud the traits until you find the winner of the day!
#1 CAT WALK CHALLENGE!
Yasss! It's time for you to unleash your students' talent in modeling. I am not talking about the professional one, I am talking about the unique, extravagant cat walk challenge. oh this can definitely boost your students' confident level.
Split your students into several groups accordingly. 3 or 4 groups would be just nice. Ask the students to choose one representative each round.
So the selected ones have to walk according to the task the teacher will give. For example, for the first round, they have to walk like a hungry gorilla or walk like a gangster who has a soft heart. Be creative. Make your students happy. I am sure they will give 100% attention in your class soon.
